El Paso Regional Manager Bob Aniol is approaching his 15-year anniversary with Sundt. His involvement in the company's diversity, equity and inclusion programs stems from his belief that in order to create prosperity for the communities in which we build, we must bring all perspectives to the table. "The diversity of thought that comes with having more women on our team has significantly expanded our problem-solving capacity. We approach our work and challenges from many more angles, driving innovation and success. My goal is to offer the same leadership, mentorship and support that were pivotal to my own career to others in the industry." Meet Admin Training Coordinator April Garcia! Recently promoted to her new role, April is a key piece of Sundt’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. Currently, she serves as a membership lead for the Women of Skill, Grit and Purpose—Sundt’s employee-resource group for women in construction. For April, “having a comprehensive DEI program brings many benefits to a business, such as increased employee engagement. People need to feel like they belong. For instance, the Women of Skill, Grit and Purpose is a great addition to Sundt. It will allow us to be open and have more conversations around how we recruit, retain and build women up in our industry.” Way to go, April! #ConstructionInclusionWeek

Congratulations to the Sundt | PCL Construction Joint Venture team in Gilbert, Arizona! They celebrated 2 years without a recordable safety incident at the Town of Gilbert's North Water Treatment Plant Facility Upgrades and Reconstruction project. This is a testament to the crew's dedication to taking care of one another and our award winning safety program, Stop the STCKY. The team gathered for some good food and prizes and tested their field goal skills. A huge shoutout to everyone on site on this milestone.

Welcome to #ConstructionInclusionWeek! This week, we're highlighting employee-owners from across Sundt who have dedicated their time to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in our industry. Follow along this week to learn more about Sundt's DEI programs. Meet Jermaine Vaughn, lead estimator for Sundt's industrial team in North Carolina. Jermaine serves on Sundt's DEI Committee, where he works on the recruiting and retention team. He's also an active member of the Women of Skill, Grit and Purpose—the company's employee resource group for women in construction. Says Jermaine, "A diverse workforce brings a variety of perspectives, ideas and solutions to the table, which leads to better approaches and more innovative ways to problem solve in our industry. DEI programs are tremendously valuable to employee-owners. They ensure better collaboration and improve morale and engagement among leaders and peers, which increases client satisfaction." We loved closing out September with high school counselors from across Arizona! They spent the day at Sundt's training campus learning about what a career in the trades can offer their students. Counselors tested their skills on mini excavators, virtual welding and nail driving ???? Shoutout to Sundt's workforce development team for a fun and informative event! ?? The final bell has rung, and our Ink It & Pink It champion is Melissa Moreno! ?? Together with a match from Sundt Construction, our three fighters raised $319,480. These funds will support local nonprofits working to fight breast cancer in Sundt's 12 giving areas. This feat couldn't have been achieved without the generous support of our donors. Thank you to Scott LaPoint, Melissa Moreno, CPC, CM-Lean and Danny Gumm for entering the ring and battling it out for a great cause. This effort is a testament to our employee-owner culture and their passion for supporting the communities where we live and work. We celebrated the winner with a live event from Sundt's Tempe headquarters. A special shoutout to Reinkarnate Tattoo for inking our fighters! They partnered with us to design custom Sundt tattoos for each participant. We were also joined by Phoenix nonprofit recipient, Check for a Lump. Their mission is to provide free breast health education, mammograms, testing and direct assistance to breast cancer patients with wigs, support, and resources in Arizona. We had a blast at Vancouver Dozer Day? this weekend! Sundt's Northwest team was back with their infamous duck slide ?? Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat construction with our employee-owners! Dozer Days is a critical fundraising event for the Nutter Family Foundation. The nonprofit focuses on the needs of children and developing their talents. We'll see everyone again next year!
