Sunday Salmon is a delicious, organic community meal, offered at no cost, to our neighbors in Castle Rock who could benefit from a home-cooked meal. This event is put on by Scaling Faith Ministries, a 508(c)1a non-profit. Our founder, Mary Grothe, has been cooking this meal nearly every Sunday for nearly 10 years! She has opened her home to family and friends for this meal and a year ago, God gave her the vision to turn it into a community meal. Starting on Sunday, January 5th, we will host Sunday Salmon at Kirk Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Castle Rock, CO. We plan to host the dinner for 3 Sundays per month in January and February and then fundraise our way to a permanent location. It doesn’t stop at the meal. We are inviting all different types of neighbors with the hope that a connection will be created between neighbors who ‘live life differently’ and have access to resources and social capital. If we begin to live life with those in need, transformation will happen! But wait, there is more. We are creating a Community Impact Fund, because some of our neighbors have immediate needs that we can meet financially… needs that may be holding them back from breakthrough and living their best life.
