The theme was "Strategies & Solutions for Corporate Real Estate’s New Normal." The event featured keynote speakers Zack Kass, former Head of Go To Market at OpenAI; Mark Divine, Ph.D., former Navy SEAL, New York Times best-selling author and podcast host; Jodie Poirier, President of Occupier Services for the Americas at Colliers and Cally Caroline Beaton, former Senior Vice President at Viacom CBS. Holly - Huntersville Road this week! We want to send a big thank you to EDIFICE Construction, the general contractor for this project, for all of their hard work so far! The site boasts 306,450 square feet of industrial space perfect for distribution and light manufacturing uses. Its dimensions measure 1,110 feet x 720 feet, and its truck court is 130 feet deep. Our teammates Derek J. Mathis and Kris Simmons in the Charleston office headed to the SIOR Carolinas Conference last week, which was conveniently held in their city! The keynote speaker was Chris Singleton, a former professional athlete drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2017, who spoke about fostering unity and racial reconciliation in the country. Charleston's Mayor William Cogswell also presented during a breakfast speaker session. He pulled from his rich real estate background and discussed shaping a vibrant and sustainable future for Charleston and about his past work revitalizing historic properties in the city while staying grounded in the principles of Smart Growth, Safe Communities and Sound Governance. Welcome to the SunCap family, Alex Popovich! Alex began work with us this month as a development associate. He brings ten years of brokerage experience with him, most recently with Lee & Associates in Charleston. A Pittsburgh native, Alex will be working out of our Charleston office. His responsibilities include underwriting new markets, researching speculative sites in Florida, tracking our current markets across the Southeast in Charleston, Greenville-Spartanburg and Savannah and assisting with site searches including identifying off-market properties. A graduate of the College of Charleston, Alex is an avid golfer and surfer and is engaged to be married this spring.
