A Global Variety Development & Licensing Company.
关于我们
Sun World International is one of the world’s largest plant variety breeders and global licensors of premium, proprietary produce. The Company’s fruit varieties - currently table grapes, stone fruit, cherries, and mangoes - are planted on more than 72,000 acres (26,000+ hectares) in 17 countries by over 2,000 licensed growers. Sun World is a pioneer in plant variety breeding; its genetics and breeding program dates back to 1976. Sun World was also one of the first to bring proprietary produce to a global audience, launching its international licensing business in 1995. Before focusing exclusively on breeding and licensing, Sun World was a significant fruit producer and marketer, which makes the Company keenly aware of and highly responsive to the needs of fruit growers.

The Sun World Team continues to be buzzing with activity this November! Kicking off the citrus harvest season in Spain with our early-season Citrus Field Day. Licensees and friends gathered to see, taste and discuss our early-season citrus variety, FJ. FJ is an early navel coming from a natural mutation of Navelina. Compared to the Navelina, FJ has a rounder shape, better caliber with earlier external color development, and practically no navel and creasing. As a result, FJ hangs much better on the tree, extending the picking period to 2-3 weeks. The next field days will take place in mid-January showcasing our mid-season varietals and late-March to showcase our late-season varietals. 🧡 #SunWorld #CitrusHarvest #CitrusVarieties #FruitHarvest #FieldDay #CitrusSeason #CitrusLovers

At Sun World, we are focused on working with our licensed marketers and growers to provide high-quality fruit to markets around the globe. We are keenly aware of the challenges that can come from flooding, drought, and other natural disasters. As these types of events are unfortunately common, we must develop actionable plans to manage fruit quality and associated branding as it makes its way to retailers and consumers. As such, Sun World provides the following specification requirements, and quality and technical support resources to help guide our licensees and retail partners: - When fruit quality is within the required specifications, Sun World’s consumer brand names can be used on the packaging, e.g., AUTUMNCRISP®. - When fruit quality does not achieve the required specifications due to a natural disaster or other challenges in the field or in transit, the fruit can still be sold under its variety or cultivar name, e.g., Sugrathirtyfive. This outlined approach enables growers, marketers, and importers to sell the best fruit in the brand name, increasing consumer enjoyment and awareness while protecting the brand’s integrity. During challenging circumstances, there is still an opportunity to sell good fruit that falls short of the quality specifications, by using the varietal name versus the branded name, protecting consumer perception.
