Like last year, a group of students from the Master’s Degree in Renewable Energies and Energy Market (MERME) of the Escuela de Organización Industrial visited SUN-to-LIQUID II partner IMDEA Energy facilities located in Móstoles. The IMDEA premises hosts the solar plant and its very-high concentration solar tower where the SUN-to-LIQUID II project integrated-on-sun validation is realized. ? The students benefitted from a presentation of Manuel Romero, researcher at the High Temperature Processes Unit and Deputy Director of the Institute. The presentation focused on the different technologies developed in SUN-to-LIQUID II project as well as in the previous project SUN-to-LIQUID.
关于我们
SUN-to-LIQUID II is a European Project funded under Horizon Europe, aiming at developping a robust and sustainable conversion pathway to produce high-quality renewable liquid fuel from the untapped inexhaustible potential of solar energy. It demonstrates a record-high efficiency in the production of solar hydrocarbon fuel from water and CO2 via solar-thermochemical conversion, bringing novel structured redox materials and heat recovery from TRL 2-3 to TRL 4-5. It provides evidence for cost-effective >80% GHG emission reduction especially for aviation, with technical scalability to production potentials beyond projected future demand. Led by Bauhaus Luftfahrt e.V., SUN-to-LIQUID II brings together a highly complementary consortium (formed of 6 partners from 5 countries), unique expertise and state-of-the-art facilities bridging the gap between research and application and constitutes a unique constellation of research institutes and industry for the advancement of solar thermochemistry. Funded by the European Union under GA 101122206. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union.
