??VINEYARD UPDATE!!! Grapes are continuing to dry through the last stretch of summer-like weather as we head into fall. Growers will be checking moisture to time harvest and boxing of fruit, with optimal moisture percentages. Once boxing is completed, growers will deliver them to the Sun-Maid processing facility to be weighed and inspected. Once inspection is completed raisins are then processed, packed and enjoyed by families around the world! ????

VINEYARD UPDATE!! Approximately two weeks after canes are cut, the leaves and rachis dry quickly, followed by the grape berries. Hot summer sun and wind help dry grape berries evenly so they can be machine harvested. After six weeks of drying, the grower will pull fruit samples to determine the moisture, which will help decide when to harvest the raisins. Fruit moisture below 14% works best for machine harvesting and removing leaves from the bins. We expect to start receiving beautiful California raisins as early as next week.
