Will Clegg’s crew in Lexington, SC. Just one crew of many helping to restore our communities back to normal after #HurricaneHelene. While many of our crews repair and restore in the Carolinas, other crews are arriving in Florida to help with the damage left by #HurricaneMilton.

In an effort to enhance sustainability in the market, Pepsi Frito Lay sought to electrify their transit trucks used for distributing products to local market customers. Sumter Utilities was given the opportunity to install EV charging stations at their facility in Richmond, Virginia. This project was full of unique and interesting challenges for our tight-knit crew, showcasing Sumter's communication, creativity, and persistence. While we're always ready to help when a storm hits, #HurricaneHelene is one that quite literally hit close to home. Some of our team members left their own clean-up efforts to help restore power in other areas. Resources are available, and our team is ready to help employees navigate next steps. The American Red Cross has a Disaster Distress Helpline that offers free counseling and support, and the Employee Assistance Program is available for counseling support as part of our benefit offerings.

The devastation we are seeing across the Carolinas is heartbreaking. But even amidst the grief, our crews are seeing the resiliency of these communities. The way they are supporting each other - and our crews - is inspiring! Our teams in Traveler's Rest, Salem, and Greenville have been gifted thank you notes and drawings from neighborhood kiddos, and local communities are providing meals to keep our guys well fed.
