The name Liminal is filled with endless meaning. It is a place-between and a state of mind. The beginning, middle, and end of a journey turned over and repeated. Finding Liminal Experiences, Inc's graphical identity itself was a process of play — early on, we explored a broad swath of visual metaphors of play and storytelling just to see what stuck, anywhere from: - A campfire to gather and tell stories - Cave markings and hieroglyphs - The art of shadows and shadow play - Visual shorthand of someone’s dreams or vision These all sought to capture the heritage of storytelling, but somehow felt too limiting for Liminal's studio brand. Often in branding development, we talk about the art of capturing lightning in the bottle — but in this case, was the lightning the story being told, or in the magic of telling it? That question led to our truth: Rather than define or capture the essence of what stories have been, we focused on reflecting the infinite potential of a new medium. Liminal's visual identity is constructed with an emphasis on being the gateway between ideas and stories with a spark as our playful guiding light. That spark can represent anything creative: a brilliant new idea, your story blossoming into more than you could have imagined, your ability to craft wonder, or simply just the art of play itself. With Liminal, that light guides you from one turn of the page to the next. The light of creativity flickers organically, often chaotically, as we follow its path, allowing us to play as we create and discover the story in us all.

Since SUMMONER opened its doors a year ago, we’ve had the luck to work on a handful of game trailers for some killer clients even though we never explicitly set out to be a trailer shop. As we continued to grow, we realized that there was a real need in the industry for a creative shop that could create more than technical gameplay showcases and instead start bringing heart, story, and cinematic inspiration back into game trailers. Today we’re launching SUMMONER A/V, part of SUMMONER Studios, to help launch the next generation of game trailers with publishers and developers. Inspired by our mutual love of cinema and storytelling, we hope SUMMONER A/V will become a beacon for how gameplay capture, editing, animation, and motion graphics can bring out the authentic heart and soul of a game or project. We’re stoked to have Ian Enario join us to lead SUMMONER A/V. Ian has been working with us for a while now and we couldn’t be happier to have him in the pack. If you’re a studio, publisher, or brand looking to create a trailer or video assets, hit us up. Our dream of reshaping game marketing is always at the core of our creative - so let’s do this damn thing.
