September is Suicide Prevention Month, and last week, for Suicide Prevention Day, we gathered to raise awareness, share stories, and collect shoes representing the 500 lives lost last year due to suicide. This year's fashion stars event was incredible and inspiring. ?? We are so grateful to those who shared their stories. Here is a highlight from the speech given by Charlie Brim. He volunteers with our ?? Survivors of Suicide (SOS) group and has helped many people heal and find hope after the suicide of a loved one. Charlie shared with us the story of his own son's suicide and how the SOS group helped him and his wife find joy again. ?? His experience inspired him to become a volunteer after he retired from his career. ? Margie Wright is the Executive Director at the Suicide & Crisis Center of North Texas and has been involved with the organization in some capacity for 25 years. She loves the work she does at the center and the hope it brings to people. She has received countless letters and messages from people whose lives were affected by the work of the employees and volunteers. Margie has made it her mission as Executive Director to do more for teens and feels very strongly about helping and resourcing them.
