Our Suffolk Northern California team was recently selected by the Construction Employers Association (CEA) for an Excellence in Safety Award for the second year in a row. The award recognizes firms demonstrating an excellent safety record, a low experience modification rate, and an active safety training program. Congratulations to the team on this honor — your commitment to safety is making a difference where it matters most.

Our Suffolk Southeast team recently celebrated the groundbreaking of our Concourse E Project at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)! This 513,000-square-foot expansion will introduce 14 new aircraft gates, a state-of-the-art TSA checkpoint, an upgraded baggage handling system, and a modern concessions hall to support RSW's increasing passenger volume and Southwest Florida's growth. We were thrilled to celebrate this important project milestone and look forward to collaborating with our partners including Lee County Port Authority to deliver this transformational project for Southwest Florida. Check out a WINK-TV segment about the project here: https://lnkd.in/eSx7gCe7

Suffolk Northeast recently had some special guests at our Lowell High School project in Lowell, Massachusetts. After just learning about construction, two kindergarten classes from the nearby Moody Elementary School got to stop by and see their future high school being renovated. Our Suffolk team showed the kids an active concrete pour for the new North bridge and joined our Perkins Eastman team to answer questions about how a construction project is designed and built. With four phases of extensive renovations and new construction, the project scope includes the construction of a new gymnasium, a new five-story Freshman Academy, renovations to the existing 1980 Building and 1922 Building, and replacement of the existing enclosed pedestrian bridges that provide connections across the campus. We're glad the Lowell High School Class of 2037 came by to learn about construction and to see their future school being built!

To accelerate career growth for our project leaders at Suffolk, we offer the Project Executive Academy through Red & Blue University, our comprehensive suite of training and career development programs. This in-person, operational-focused training builds foundational, technical, business and leadership capabilities for those in the role. Participants establish a comprehensive, skill-based knowledge of “the Suffolk Way” of leading projects across our entire project executive group. Boston Project Executive Adam Kreitman recently participated in the Project Executive Academy, calling it an invaluable experience. He's one of nearly 50 team members who have taken part in the program and are gaining new strategies and skills. • Suffolk Southeast was thrilled to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony for our significant renovation and expansion project of Airsides A and E at Tampa International Airport (TPA). This project was focused on improving circulation, queuing and screening throughput, and updating the spaces to meet current TSA standards. Dedicating over 275,000 work hours, our Suffolk project team and over 35 trade partners successfully delivered a stunning and modern space that will improve the passenger experience at TPA. Across the country, our Aviation & Transportation Center of Excellence is dedicated to providing the highest level of quality, client service and safety, managing complex projects without disrupting existing airport operations. Thank you to our Suffolk project team and our partners at AECOM, Hillsborough County and TPA - it was an honor helping this vision come to reality.

  • Space can be hard to come by in New York City, especially for new construction. At the same time, New York’s life sciences companies and healthcare institutions face increased demand: more patients as the population ages, more conditions to treat and new technologies to incorporate into their lifesaving efforts. To balance their service and expansion needs, many clients are renovating vacant spaces or adding to their campuses. And those existing buildings bring a host of legacy complexities — ones that we’re discovering through laser scanning, which saves time and money before we even start construction. Denis Leff, Suffolk New York Director of Digital Engineering, explores this topic in this LinkedIn article. Read on to learn more and let us know what you think: https://lnkd.in/erAYH4Zz

  • Thank you to our Suffolk Southeast teams, who showed up in a big way for the 2025 Women Build events with both the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County and Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties. The Habitat for Humanity Women Build has a mission to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing. Last week, our teams donated their time to build and beautify homes in Palm Beach and Lee County, providing stability and empowering local families. Thank you to our volunteers and Habitat for Humanity for your continued partnership on this important community work. #WomensHistoryMonth

  • This Women's History Month, Suffolk is thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with Girl Scouts of Eastern MA (GSEMA), celebrating the launch of our newest curriculum created in partnership with the organization. The "Cadettes Who Build" curriculum adapts the previously launched curricula designed for Brownies and Juniors, now focusing on teaching girls aged 11-14 about key stages of the building process including design, estimating, planning, safety and trades. During Saturday's launch event, 30 Cadettes visited Suffolk's headquarters where they designed and built a "city," constructing a building with materials of their choice. The Cadettes also had the opportunity to tour our facility and learn from women at Suffolk about careers in the industry. While women's representation in STEM has increased 79% over the past 30 years, they make up only 28% of the STEM workforce. Through partnerships with organizations like GSEMA, Suffolk is committed to growing this share and fortifying the pipeline of diverse talent in our industry.
