Journey So Far: Physical Therapist for 6 years and has been with Suburban for a little over 1 year We’re so lucky to have Ryan on our team! I grew up playing sports and have always loved exercise and movement. That passion naturally led me to physical therapy, where I can help others improve their mobility, strength, and overall well-being. It’s incredibly rewarding to use what I love to make a positive impact in people’s lives. - How long have you been a Physical Therapist and what is your "why" that keeps you going? I have been a PT since 2018. I love being able to guide people to achieve their goals and improve their ability to better access their communities, move around in their homes, and prevent falls. - What is one memory that will always stick with you as a Physical Therapist? My first thank-you note from a patient’s family is displayed at home to remind me of why I do what I do. It serves as a reminder that the care I provide can have a lasting impact, not just on my patients, but on their loved ones as well. Moments like these keep me motivated and remind me of the difference I can make. - What brought you to Suburban Home Health? I chose Suburban Home Health because of its positive company culture, strong connections to local hospital systems, and the opportunity to provide one-on-one care for patients. It’s a place where I can focus on delivering the personalized care that each patient deserves while being part of a supportive team. - Share a fun fact about yourself to help our community get to know you on a more personal level. I enjoy playing sports with my young children and even get to serve as their coach! ?? Employee Spotlight: Meet Liz York! ?? We’re excited to shine a light on one of our incredible team members, Liz York, who has been an essential part of Suburban Home Health for 3 years! ?? Liz is known for her positive attitude, compassionate heart, and dedication to Physical Therapy. Whether she is challenging a patient or changing someone's life after an injury, Liz always goes above and beyond! When Liz isn't at work, you can find her and her husband at a half marathon or hiking. Join us in celebrating Liz and her amazing contributions to our team! ?? ?? - What brought you to choose physical therapy as your profession? I grew up playing soccer and wanted to go into a career where I would get to stay active rather than sit at a desk all day. After learning more about physical therapy, I was excited for a profession that would allow me to work in several different settings as well as work collaboratively with other disciplines like nurses, occupational therapists, MDs, athletic trainers and speech therapists. I like how PTs can specialize in certain areas, and I hope to one day become a certified canine physical therapist! - How long have you been a Physical Therapist and what is your "why" that keeps you going? I have been a Doctor of Physical Therapy for 3 years now and have been with Suburban since I graduated PT school! I love getting the chance to see my patients work hard towards a goal that actually makes a difference in their daily life. It also helps when they have cats and dogs for me to greet during our visits - What is one memory that will always stick with you as a Physical Therapist? It's difficult to choose one certain instance but moments that always bring me joy are when I get to bring patients outside. Sometimes it has been months since a patient has been able to make it outdoors and it is so special to watch them enjoy some sunshine and fresh air after being cooped up. I do have one memory of helping a patient set up her Christmas village for the holidays, I am determined for everyone to have some holiday cheer! - What brought you to Suburban Home Health? I had a clinical with Suburban during PT school and was lucky to join the team officially after I graduated. My favorite part about Suburban is my amazing coworkers. They are some of the most genuinely selfless people I have ever met and make every day brighter for myself and our patients! - Share a fun fact about yourself to help our community get to know you on a more personal level. I have completed 4 half marathons and am planning to run in my 5th this November! I also love the outdoors including hiking, camping, and extremely amateur rock climbing.
