Subsurface Constructors recently rented an ABI Mobilram TM 26 to install full displacement piles for several new attractions in downtown St. Louis.?The project calls for the addition of a roller coaster and several other amusement park rides to join the existing Ferris wheel at St. Louis’ Union Station.?The piling installation was performed in conjunction with Concrete Strategies.?PARIC is the general contractor, and construction is expected to be completed later this year.

We've been busy! Here are some of our more unique projects over the past few months. We designed and installed approx. 10,000 stone columns and rigid inclusions to support new fill over soft soil on a Midwest project; Drilled grout holes in the bottom of a cofferdam to block water flow; and designed/installed micropiles in an existing parking garage for a new addition to the St. Clair County (IL) courthouse. #deepfoundations #groundimprovement #geotechnicalengineering

Ryan Caton is a geological engineering student at Missouri University of Science and Technology and Susan Bigler is pursuing a career in geotechnical engineering, first through Southwestern Illinois College and undecided on where next.
