Big bet philanthropy is reshaping the giving landscape. But funders of all sizes can learn from the way those big bets are landing with communities. Lesson 1: Communities must set their own priorities No matter how much support a funder brings to the table, they need to take a supporting role. Community members should be the ones leading the way. Lesson 2: Innovation should have a clear purpose Before jumping in, funders must do the research to determine if a lack of innovation is what’s holding progress back. Lesson 3: Strategy work can’t be overlooked Funders cannot expect organizations to do big, systems change work without time and resources dedicated to strategy. Lesson 4: Additional funding should be a collective goal Grantmakers of all sizes should aim to help their nonprofit partners build a community of support. Check out the full article for examples from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Lever for Change, Mackenzie Scott, and more ??

Yesterday our team was in San Francisco for #TAGlocal. ? The conversations and presentations were so inspiring. We're still thinking about how Dr. Nitha Fiona Nagubadi of Mango Networx framed the integration of AI as a change management strategy. She made the case that before adoption at the individual level, organizations have to clarify why a tool is being implemented in the first place and craft an overarching governance policy. ?? We love to see responsible AI adoption strategies gaining momentum. A big thanks to the Technology Association of Grantmakers for putting on the event!
