Recommendations were made for consistent oversight and further SFDR review by the European Commission. Bank of England Reduces Bank Rate to 4.75% On November 6, 2024, the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee reduced the Bank Rate by 0.25 points to 4.75%, responding to ongoing disinflation. While CPI inflation fell to 1.7% in September, a temporary increase to around 2.5% is expected by year-end. The MPC aims to achieve a 2% inflation target in the medium term and is monitoring wage growth and labour market stability closely, planning a gradual approach to further adjustments. The MPC’s guidance impacts financial institutions’ lending and risk practices, which in turn affects regulatory compliance regarding credit risk and market stability.

ESAs raise concerns over EC’s rejection of technical standards on DORA registers 15 October 2024 The ESAs (EBA, EIOPA, and ESMA) have expressed reservations regarding the EC’s addition of the European Unique Identifier (EUID) as an alternative to the LEI for ICT third-party service providers under DORA. This addition, the ESAs note, could introduce complexity and hinder efficient CTPP designation. They recommend maintaining LEI as the primary identifier if the EC moves forward with the EUID inclusion.
