Style Her Empowered (SHE) is a nonprofit creating sustainable education and employment opportunities for girls and women in Togo, Africa. Our holistic approach focuses on three core pillars that empower girls and women to thrive long-term: 1. Girl’s Education 2. Women’s Employment and 3. Sustainability. In our 7 years of operation, we’ve provided 8,095 education sponsorships for girls and 40 year-round jobs for women in Togo. Every girl in our program receives: ??a SHE Uniform that Grows ??????a full-tuition scholarship ??a reusable menstrual health kit ??a backpack full of school supplies ?????? year-round support from our local team of teachers In addition, we employ women in Togo from low-income and low-education backgrounds in our Paid-to-Learn employment program. Every woman at SHE is guaranteed: ??salaries above living wage ?no more than 40 hour work weeks ??????free childcare on site ????3 month paid maternity leave ????unlimited sick leave ??paid time for adult education ??additional benefits that ensure women can thrive in the workplace. A school uniform that grows 6 sizes and up to 12 inches in length, enabling girls to stay in school for years without the worry of outgrowing their required uniforms. ??Repost to share When Style Her Empowered (SHE) first provided school uniforms to girls in their program, they quickly discovered an unexpected challenge: many of the girls were outgrowing their uniforms multiple times each school year. For families already struggling financially, the cost of frequent replacements was simply out of reach. In response, they collaborated with students to develop a brilliant solution— a dress that grows with the girl. This unique design expands 6 sizes and up to a foot in length, accommodating a girl’s growth over three years. It adjusts in the areas where a girl’s body changes most, providing a tailored fit at every stage of her development. By ensuring that a girl’s uniform grows with her: ?? Continuity in Education ?? Empowerment and Confidence ?? Breaking the Cycle of Poverty What a super cool innovation with purpose. And a brilliant example of listening and working with your customers to provide something or real value ?? Our Girls' Education program supports 1,500 girls each year in Togo, Africa. Meet Elolo, the first student sponsored by S H E in 2017. Today, Elolo is not only a high school graduate, she is now the Assistant Director of S H E Togo. Elolo is holding the door of opportunity open for thousands of girls in her community each year. Her story is a beautiful example of when you educate a girl, you empower a nation. ?
