Protecting seniors from fraud starts with education and community support. Several Sturgis Bank employees—Jon Werme, Brent Wedding, Lauren Merrill, and Cathy Knapp—had the privilege of joining Senior Crimestoppers at Spring Valley Crossing in Kalamazoo to kick off a Fraud Prevention Program for senior residents. Through an engaging Fraud Bingo session, we shared important financial safety tips with senior residents, helping them recognize scams and safeguard their finances. It was an afternoon filled with learning, connection, and meaningful conversations. We were honored to support Senior Crimestoppers with a $5,000 grant to help protect seniors from fraud, abuse, and financial exploitation. This partnership allows us to give back in a meaningful way, empowering residents with the knowledge and resources they need to stay safe. We are grateful for this opportunity to make a real impact. Financial security is for everyone, and we’re here to help. #CommunityFirst #FraudPrevention #SeniorSafety

At Sturgis Bank, supporting community initiatives is at the heart of what we do. Last Saturday, Stephanie Timmer and Rhonda Wendzel from our Van Buren County team attended the SENIOR SERVICES OF VAN BUREN COUNTY INC Gala, an event we were honored to sponsor. Funds raised contribute to the Reimagine Capital Campaign, which transformed the former Village Market into a modern senior center, enhancing services and opportunities for older adults in our community. It's inspiring to see so many come together to support meaningful projects that make a lasting impact. #CommunityBanking #ImpactfulGiving #VanBurenCounty #SeniorServices

At Sturgis Bank, supporting the communities we’re part of isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are. Last Friday, Josh Bohm, Branch Manager & Mortgage Lender at our Centreville branch, delivered a donation to John Friedel at Centreville United Methodist Church to help stock their food pantry. Because no one should ever have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. Hunger is real. But so is the power of community, generosity, and compassion. When we lift each other up, we build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods where everyone has the chance to thrive. Together, we can make a difference. #CommunityFirst #FoodPantry #LetsGrowHome
