As insurance companies are leaving CA, the cost to insure homes is also going up. A structural engineer can check to make sure your unit is secure and give you the certification required by most insurance and lending companies in compliance with HUD standards. What this means for you is a structural engineer will come out and inspect that your mobile home is securely anchored to a permanent foundation, in the event of an earthquake or wind event, write you a letter stating the verification and seal it with the engineering stamp.
