Studio Current worked with the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council of the Boy Scouts of America to design a new Dining Hall / Multi-Purpose Room to serve up to 450 scouts at a time for Camp Hi-Sierra in Tuolumne, County, CA. This rustic lodge building has a large stone fireplace, indoor & outdoor dining space, and a large commercial kitchen for food storage and preparation for the camp. This addition to Camp Hi-Sierra has brought in record numbers of campers to enjoy its outdoor recreation. This project was started while Jeff was at SWENSON and continued with the Construction Documents at Studio Current. Barry Swenson’s father, Cliff, built the prior dining hall at Camp Hi-Sierra in the early 1950’s. We previously worked on the Roberto Cruz Academy. We were responsible for Design, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration for a 2-Story (20,000sf) Education Building for a local College Preparatory level High School, serving an underserved Latino community in San Jose. This project was completed back in 2017 and gives the students a chance to learn in a modern “tech-office like” environment as they prepare themselves for high school diplomas and higher education. The Building is known as “Sobrato Hall East” and has a lively colored plaster and limestone exterior that fits well into the context of the larger campus. Redco Development, working with the architecture firm Studio Current, has submitted a request for a Major Architectural Review for its proposed 382-unit project

Throwback to when we worked with the Administration and Board of Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School, a college preparatory program aimed at sending 100% of its student body to college, to create a new blended learning environment. The space was designed to encompass Math, Science, Language, and Arts classrooms along with administrative office space, conference rooms, and a chapel. The building’s design converts the school classroom environment into a high-tech modern office environment, providing students state-of-the-art technology to assist in the learning process. The classroom and administrative building have a two-story steel brace frame designed to fit within the context of the century-old Five Wounds Catholic Church and the Little Portugal neighborhood of San Jose. A future BART station will be built across the street from this urban infill campus. We recently worked with Aria Build & Construction on 931-935 Meridian Avenue. This 7 story mixed use podium building boasts an active streetscape with a Hair Salon, Bakery and outdoor seating. It will be a welcome addition to the Southwest Expressway Urban Village and replaces two old single family homes with a new community of up to 100 inhabitants, enriching the life & vitality along Meridian Avenue. The new development aims to enhance the pedestrian streetscape and tuck cars in basement parking. The design emphasizes clean lines & ample daylighting for an inviting & sustainable environment. Throwback to our Lewis & Tibbitts project. Lewis & Tibbitts, Inc is a General Contractor that does heavy infrastructure work in the Bay Area. They specialize in excavating, grading, asphalt, utility installation, and have a large fleet of trucks, tractors & equipment of all sizes. The design concept for their new on-site office building was to combine industrial materials and modern architecture. The building uses a pre-engineered steel structure in a simple geometric form to contribute to the building's efficiency and aesthetic and a seamed metal skin allowing it to integrate neatly in its industrial surroundings. We recently worked with Alejandro Carrillo of NorCal Bay Construction on 415 E. Empire Street, which is a gateway site to the Japantown neighborhood. The proposed architecture is modern with a fusion of Japanese elements:?landscape materials, neutral color scheme, vertical cedar siding, plus introduction of shoji screen room dividers allows this building to be both timeless & grounded in its context. Studio Current worked with Tangerine Salon back in 2021 to create a modern industrial hair studio that caters to the most fashionable residents of Silicon Valley. The ambience of the finished Tangerine Salon is both warm & refreshing with lots of natural light and all the right elements for a modern salon.
