关于我们

Students with USC Museums (SUM) is a registered student organization open to all students with a passion for art, and drive for learning more about museum careers and professional development. Established in 2024, our organization aims to inspire and educate students about the world of museums by providing opportunities for museum visits, seminars, and workshops. Partnered with the USC Fisher Museum of Art and USC Pacific Asia Museum, we have a unique connection and opportunity to strengthen the bond between USC Museums and the university student body.

Is it "braad" or "brode" ? Our visit to The Broad was filled with insightful conversations brought about by the works shown below! If the American flag is both an abstraction of an idea and a symbol, what does it become as part of an artwork? Is the difference between a "perfect" painting and an "imperfect" one truly arbitrary? Did Michael Jackson really have a pet chimpanzee? These are just some of the enlightening questions with which we indulged ourselves. If you weren't able to join us for our visit, The Broad still offers free general admission. Art, like the best things in life, is even better when shared. So if you'd like to join us for our next museum or gallery walkthrough, follow us on social media or our weekly newsletter! ??? ?? Roy Lichtenstein. Rouen Cathedral, Set 3, 1968-1969. • Have you ever asked yourself, what is flintknapping? Well I know I have, and if you'd like to find out then consider joining us for a hands-on flintknapping workshop this?Sunday and discover the ancient art of crafting tools and arrowheads from stone! Practiced for over 2.5 million years, flintknapping was a vital skill for survival, shaping the way our ancestors created weapons and essential tools. This one-of-a-kind experience gives you the chance to craft objects you’d typically see in museums! Don’t miss this opportunity to bring history to life and create tools like those you might have studied or admired. ??

  • Had a #splendiferous evening at the Fowler Museum at UCLA for their Fire Kinship public gathering! Having the opportunity to volunteer at events like these gives us the chance to both support neighboring institutions (even if they are our rivals) and gain new insight to an exhibition's message! ?? We're currently in the works with planning a tour of Fire Kinship in the coming months, so stay tuned for more updates here or on our newsletter. ???
