Empowering youth isn’t just about coaching them to speak up—it’s about giving them real opportunities to lead. Through our partnership with Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business we launched another year of the Society for Early Entrepreneurs (S.E.E.) Program, founded by Vinesh Kapil. Coordinated by Duke Fuqua Business student Daniel and with mentorship from other Duke Fuqua Business students, our students developed business ideas, honed public speaking skills, and took the stage for Pitch Day, delivering ‘Shark Tank’-style presentations to a panel of judges. More than just pitching, they gained the confidence to own their narratives and step into leadership. Throughout this semester, Student U and the Durham Art Guild have teamed up once again for the Creative Mentorship Program (CMP), an inspiring collaboration in which local artists and Student U high school students work side by side to bring unique artistic visions to life! Over the past few months, our students have met weekly with their mentors, refining their skills and pushing creative boundaries while preparing for their final art exhibition at the DAG Gallery + Studios this June. From hands-on studio sessions to workshops with professional artists, CMP is not just about creating art; it’s about self-expression, problem-solving, and building confidence through creativity. We can’t wait to see their final projects come to life!
