Attendees gained hands-on experience in taking vitals, intubation, and suturing; explored an operating room and a flight trauma unit; and heard invaluable advice from current medical students about their journeys into medicine. FRiM: Mistrust between patients and the medical community poses a serious risk to public health. In today's climate, the need for clear and effective communication of medical knowledge has never been more urgent. Our program empowers medical students to break free from complex scientific jargon, enabling them to convey their research to a wider audience in an accessible and impactful way. With mentorship from seasoned medical professionals, our 5th cohort will be tasked with transforming their research into compelling TED-style presentations at the 2025 AMEC. Collaborating with peers who share a passion for advancing healthcare communication, participants will work toward a common goal: bridging the gap between medical expertise and public understanding. All presentations at AMEC will occur on April 18th & 19th 2025. Abstract Requirements: 1. Must be 2,500 characters or less without spaces (not including title or author block) wordcount.com 2. One abstract per presenter - no partners or groups will be accepted 3. Sections to Include: Title, Author(s), Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion 4. Case Reports are not eligible for submission 5. Work should not have been presented or published previously unless significant changes or findings have been made since the previous presentation * Abstracts will be reviewed for completeness without error. * Selected entries will be notified on a rolling basis Award Breakdown: 1. Medical Students: One winner in each category ($600 x6) 2. Undergraduate Students: Two winners regardless of category ($500 x2) 3. Oral Presentations: One winner ($600 x1) 4.
