The Board of Directors of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin is pleased to announce the hiring of Wendy Cozzens as CEO. Wendy previously served as Vice President of Philanthropy and has been working for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin for more than 13 years. Wendy will be succeeding retiring President & CEO, Patti Gorsky who served our Chapter for more than 25 years. Wendy will begin her new role on March 3, and Patti will remain on staff until March 31. As VP of Philanthropy, Wendy helped double our budget with our team and significantly increased the number of wishes granted to children with critical illnesses. Wendy offers a leadership style that emphasizes authenticity and compassion, recognizing that each wish represents hope for a child facing a critical illness.

Partnering with the Jerry Jendusa Family, we’re proud to make a meaningful impact in Mukwonago, a community that embodies generosity and heart. ?? 15th Annual Mukwonago for Wishes – This amazing event has raised enough funds to grant 141 wishes for children in need, making it Wisconsin’s largest Kids for Wish Kids fundraiser and the second largest in the country! This year’s goal: grant 25 more wishes to spread hope, strength, and joy. Since 1984, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin has granted over 8,600 wishes, providing children battling critical illnesses with the strength to persevere. For three years,?Pat Connaughton?has proudly spoken at the kickoff rally to amplify excitement and support for these efforts. It has been an exciting and inspiring week for Mukwonago for Wishes. On Tuesday, the Mukwonago students along with the Jendusa family did a check presentation with the funds they raised during a 2-week fundraising blitz. And, last night the amazing and generous team at BREAKTHRU Leadership U? held a fundraiser event. Thanks to the participation of 389 Mukwonago students, their coaches, teachers and families and the funds raised by BreakThru's outstanding event, they raised a combined total of $207,555 which will result in more than 30 life-changing wishes for local kids battling critical illnesses. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated.

Over the past two weeks, we have witnessed the power of a wish firsthand. Through Mukwonago’s 'Kids for Wish Kids' fundraiser and our 'Once Upon a Wish' event, this incredible community came together with one shared purpose—to bring hope, joy, and strength to children facing unimaginable challenges. We are beyond humbled and proud to share that, together, we raised $207,555—enough to grant over 30 life-changing wishes. ?? Last night was nothing short of magical. We laughed, we cried, and we were deeply moved by the inspiring words of Steve Stark, Patti Gorsky, Todd Farley, and so many others who reminded us why we do this. One wish can become a lifetime of wishes granted for kids who need it most. To every donor, every participant, and every person who played a part in this journey—thank you.
