This week, I had the opportunity to meet some of the recipients of the 2024 NCSEA ?????????????????? ???? ???????????????????? ?????????????????????? ???????????????????????? at the national summit in Las Vegas. These scholarships were established to support historically underrepresented students pursuing careers in structural engineering. Two days ago, ?????????? ???????????????????? ?????????????????? Tricia Ruby an incredible friend who I deeply admire and respect (as do many others in our profession!) invited donor group representatives to the stage for recognition. I was pleased and honored to be one among a group of 25 to be part of the review committee this year. What a unique opportunity for a presentation: This topic was about the latest building snow load requirements (ASCE 7-22) in the historically snowiest metro in the country (Syracuse, NY) by the the most influential person of snow load design for buildings (Dr. Michael O’Rourke).
