关于我们
Strong Start to Finish scales reforms in developmental education across higher education systems, so every student is set up to pass credit-earning courses in English and math in their first year of college. In particular, we support college success for Black, Brown, Asian American and Indigenous students, students with low incomes and returning adults, who have been underserved by the education system.

We were so happy to join the Complete College America convening in #Indianapolis! This was a great session where that examined: ? What happens when we allow students to make decisions about their own placement? ? What do we see when we express confidence in students’ self-awareness and abilities? ? Do practitioners, practices and institutional structures change as students’ role in placement change? ? What is the impact of incorporating learning mindsets into teaching and learning? The answers to these questions can inform shifts in norms to enable students to be change agents in institutional practice. There's a great new piece from Complete College America, one of Strong Start’s network partners on the success of corequisite courses, in The Hechinger Report! "[Corequisite support] spares students from navigating a long and treacherous path of remedial courses that don’t count for college credit. Instead, corequisite support limits attrition by reducing the number of points along the way where students might stop out." Read the full piece here: https://ow.ly/VJ7r50U5a3c

In this recent opinion piece from Anne Kim in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Kim writes "Schools and educational systems on the leading edge of reform have also abandoned traditional remediation altogether in favor of 'corequisites,' often with spectacular success. ... In states like Tennessee and Louisiana, where corequisites are now universal, completion gaps between developmental and 'college-ready' students have narrowed dramatically." Did you know that #California's A.B. 705 significantly expanded access to a key early milestone in the transfer pathway for community college students? Though access and success have increased, racial and ethnic gaps in completion rates persist, especially for Black and Latino students.
