Stronger Together Now had a successful kick-off of #STNintheStreets thanks to our amazing team, sponsors Southern California Association of Governments + Go Human + California Office of Traffic Safety & partners The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture of the Riverside Art Museum ? The event began with ceremonial Danza by Xiuh Arte followed by the LIVE mural, & free salsa lessons instructions inside The Cheech with Bayu Wilson y Cinthi ? DJ 3ish Christopher Bishop spun some funk, R&B, salsa, raeggeton, and hip hop ? Professional skateboarder, Ryan Carrell, led safety demos throughout the event with 1:1 attention and tips on best way to move on wheels! ? #STNintheStreets will continue through the summer and focus on traffic safety through surveys, collective dialogue, and education materials to improve pick-up/drop-offs at local schools & decrease risk of injury while distracted. ? Each LIVE mural event will showcase one canvas (youth-designed) & all three will be displayed together as a collective mural at the end of the campaign. ? Local artists will continue to be on site to help lead and inspire youth participants. ? Our next one will be held at Rialto’s Juneteenth Jam! on 6/19 from 4-9pm at Ferguson Park. ?
