Stroman & Associates is an independent consulting firm specializing in fundraising, board governance, strategic planning and leadership development. In contrast to the industry standard, we take a relational approach to our consulting and fundraising. We call it Conversational Fundraising?. Instead of researching a donor and presenting them with a gift proposal (telling) we engage in a conversation with donors and discover what they want to do their resources (asking). These principals and philosophies are taught at the Asking Academy?. The firm was founded by Kent Stroman in 2001. Kent is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He provides counsel which has been honed by more than forty years of experience in general development management, strategic planning, capital campaigns, major donor solicitation, board service and financial management. Stroman’s experience includes 25 years in higher education as a Professor, Vice President for Finance and Vice President for Advancement.

In moments of inspiration and enthusiasm, we charge ahead in hopes of immediately implementing all the best practices of the intentional board.
