We are excited to announce that STROIK Lighting Design has joined architectural lighting design firm Lam Partners, and that Chris Stroik will be leading Lam’s new DC studio as Principal. Lam Partners, with offices in Cambridge, MA, Pittsburgh, PA, and now Washington, DC, provides lighting design for architectural and exterior environments with an emphasis on design excellence. Together, we will grow our architectural lighting design services in the greater Washington, DC area, combining our experience in the cultural and institutional landscape with Lam’s extensive portfolio and collaborative design process. Joining Lam Partners is a real gift and honor for STROIK. We are delighted to build on STROIK Lighting Design’s foundation of offering high quality design services and products that enhance the environment and human experience, in expanding the great legacy of Lam Partners into the DC market and beyond. In this shift, we want to acknowledge the tremendous support of all STROIK’s staff, clients, and so many others that have challenged and broadened STROIK’s contribution to the world of light. Stroik Lighting Design is a full service lighting design practice that collaborates with designers, architects, landscape architects, developers, contractors, and private clients in the development and realization of lighting design. Priding itself in scrutinizing project requirements while maximizing objectives of sustainability, maintainability, excellence, and transcendence, Stroik Lighting Design strives to contribute positive and meaningful solutions through the medium of light. Led by Christopher V. Stroik, the design approach considers design problems as welcome opportunities to explore formal, meaningful, and/or pragmatic issues expressed or manifested with light. Working closely with a variety of clients, Chris has worked on many award winning world class projects over the past two decades. Art Museums, History Museums, Civic Memorials, Corporate Offices, Speculative Office Buildings, Government Office and Research facilities, Medical Care and Research facilities, Restaurants, Retail, Gardens, Outdoor Sculpture, Private Residences, and Prototypical Experiments. Prior to founding Stroik Lighting Design, Chris worked for the prestigious lighting design and museum design firm of George Sexton Associates for some 17 years. Before venturing into lighting and museum design, Chris spent several years in monasteries as a contemplative and studied theology concentrating in ritual and respective spaces. Prior to this Chris worked as an architect primarily in Philadelphia, after receiving a B.Arch degree from Virginia Tech. Chris is a registered Architect in Virginia and a member of the AIA, IALD, and IES.
