We are a bit delayed here, but a few weeks ago, our CTO, Saumya Garg, took the stage at Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) and rocked the stage with our pitch in front a room full of investors and technologists. It's rare to have a seasoned and successful technologist that is as strong as him who can also talk business, but clearly, we got lucky! ?? ??

Reading about the state of our schools, it's clear we’re facing more than just a temporary setback. Test scores are at their lowest in decades, and gaps between students keep growing. As the article says, it’s like a 'comet hit our education system,' leaving kids struggling not only with academics but with the social and emotional fallout of lost years. What’s especially worrying is that some schools and districts seem to be accepting 'that’s just the way it’s going to be,' as if this generation of kids might never fully catch up. But it’s not just academic achievement that’s slipping — chronic absenteeism is at an all-time high, teachers are burning out, and families feel increasingly disconnected from a system that’s meant to support them. We can’t settle for simply adjusting proficiency levels to make things look better on paper. Real change means understanding what works and what doesn’t, being honest about where we are, and committing to do better. Every child deserves more than a return to 'normal.' They deserve a system that’s ready to tackle these issues with empathy and accountability. It’s time to call for more — for the students most affected, for the teachers on the frontlines, and for a future where education truly lives up to its promise. We hope the current administration understands what’s at stake here. https://lnkd.in/gbb-f6zY

Exciting to see our founder, Shweta Gandhi, representing Strived.io at today’s panel hosted by the Sacramento Business Journal! ?? It’s inspiring to be part of a thriving ecosystem where innovation and entrepreneurship are not just encouraged but actively supported. Shweta shared the stage with incredible founders and champions of the Sacramento region, highlighting the journey of Strived.io and the exciting road ahead. Proud to be part of a community that dreams big and delivers. ?? #Entrepreneurship #EdTech #SacramentoEcosystem
It’s rare to see a city truly take action on its commitments—especially when that means finding capital that often seems out of reach. But for the past two years, I’ve witnessed Sacramento do just that, consistently turning aspirations into reality for entrepreneurs. Today’s gathering was a perfect example of this magic in motion. From young startups like Strived.io, to Series B companies like unstructured.io, and even those on the cusp of going public like @Blaize, the room was brimming with some of the brightest minds and showcased a powerful microcosm of what’s possible when a city puts its money where its mouth is. I had the honor of sharing the stage with two incredible founders, Brian S. Raymond and Dinakar Munagala, speaking to a room full of champions, investors, friends, and colleagues—all thanks to the Sacramento Business Journal's convening. It was a moment to reflect on the work we’ve accomplished and the exciting road ahead. As Ray Bryant said to me on a call today, this ecosystem started flourishing just five years ago because a few bold people *dreamed big*. It’s an incredible privilege to be part of this thriving community where entrepreneurship is celebrated, supported, and empowered. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come. ?? And a shoutout to Rebecca Nguyen for these lovely photos! FourthWave.io, Growth Factory, Rich Foreman, Franklin Burris, MPA, Cameron R. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I was genuinely humbled to learn through a cold LinkedIn message (Thanks Alex Sardinha!) that I made it onto EdTech’s Top 100 Influencers. Not sure about the following around part, but I’d love for you to join the journey and lend a hand along the way! Thank you, Victor Rivero, for this honor. Now, who can play “Where’s Waldo” and spot my picture? ??

At Strived, we’re driven by the belief that with clear purpose and impact, profit will come. While we are early on the latter piece, we are keeping our heads down to drive purpose! Excited to have the help of incredible educators like Dylan Kane, and teams like NewSchools supporting us through the process!
Still buzzing from two days with the NewSchools crew and a bunch of amazing fellow founders - I literally never stop being blown away by *how* others are trying to push much needed improvements in ours schools - Our kids are lucky! Nothing like diving deep into impact, growth, and fundraising (while balancing efficacy) with people who really get it. I have had this conversation with Rikin Gandhi re: can a for-profit, venture-funded business truly drive impact while balancing a focus on profit?? I have a feeling this team is the one that gets it most in this space! One of the founders on my table nailed it - pardon my rephrasing: running a startup is like doing stand-up — you throw yourself out there, take a bunch of boos, and occasionally get tossed a bone that you grab and run with! Honestly, I couldn’t agree more. But thanks to the NewSchools team, we felt more like headliners than hopefuls! Thrilled to see where the rest of the year goes with this rockstar crew — shoutout to Erin Stark, Lacey Allen, and Cameron White for making it all happen. And I'd be remiss if I did not call out my partner who brought his best to the table this week including some rap-like Haikus and endless sentences that started with "What if we build this...?!", Saumya Garg! Can’t wait to keep sharing and learning with district leaders across the country to make sure we’re building something they actually want to use! ?? Exciting News Alert! ?? We are thrilled to be part of the NewSchools #LearningSolutions cohort for 2024 alongside some other incredible founders in the sector. We’re deeply humbled by their belief in our ability to tackle such an audacious challenge. This grant allows us to peel back the next layers of the product, gather invaluable feedback *directly* from our teacher users, and continue building a solution that truly addresses a pressing need. We’re genuinely grateful to have this team with us on this journey. While we may not have all the answers yet, we’re committed to persisting—because this problem is simply too important to ignore, and frankly - keeps us up at night! https://lnkd.in/gfgciW42 Saumya Garg, Shweta Gandhi
