?? TREO and Grandpa STORK's House of Flying Dragons, a Play-based Learning and Innovation Lab, popped-up at Arts and Sciences this month. ?? A&S students participated in a fun-filled, interactive program lesson called "Dragon's Fire Flying EGG" that encouraged students to soar into their creativity with three awesome activities: ?? ART: Students received their own dragon egg to decorate and make uniquely theirs ?? FITNESS: Students participated in fun dragon-flying exercises with Grandpa STORK to build balance and strength ?? ?? A Special Veterans Day Celebration at Arts & Sciences! Our first and second graders had the honor of welcoming veterans and active service members to their classrooms today for a meaningful pre-Veterans Day celebration. Our distinguished guests shared their time and experiences with our young learners, reading stories and helping students understand the significance of Veterans Day. The children were fully engaged, asking thoughtful questions and learning firsthand from these brave men and women who serve our country. Congratulations to the new Philadelphia Performing Arts 5th Grade Ambassadors! Today, our West Campus 5th Grade Student Ambassadors had an Induction Ceremony celebrating their new leadership role within our school community. These students not only act as role models, but also assist with school functions and provide service within our school community. Our B-Day Vocal Majors provided some music for our guests while the the students received a leadership polo shirt and a certificate of recognition. The Ambassadors program has representatives from each of the 5th Grade classes. This specially designed space features various interactive elements to help students regulate their bodies and minds when feeling overstimulated. We are grateful to the Eagles Autism Foundation for their support in making our community even more inclusive and accessible. Brandon's forte has been singing big band music sine he was just 8 years old! ???? Arts and Sciences Students Shine on Independence Mall! ?? Our talented students at A&S performed during Flag Day celebrations at Independence Mall last week! After impressing Ms. Patricia Coyne, an H.R. Edmunds Alum and member of Daughters of the American Revolution, at the Black History Month concert, students were invited to perform during the day's ceremonies. Led by our amazing teachers Mr. Greg Greer (Percussion) and Mr. Christian Smith (Orchestra), our students delivered two stellar performances and had the opportunity to explore the historic sites. Mr. Greer reports they the students an incredible time and absolutely nailed it! This experience highlights the power of activator culture in education. By connecting with the larger community and gaining real-world performance experience, our students are developing skills that go far beyond the classroom. These opportunities to showcase their talents and engage with history firsthand are invaluable for their growth. ??
