Here is a tweek to the tackle pursuit drill S&C coaches can do during the summer to get ready for the season. The way we set this drill up was the offensive player knew they had one person in front of them they had to make miss. However, they knew they had someone coming from behind them. This mimiced what would happen in game situations. We created this so the offensive player would not do tons of juke moves and stand in place (that can't happen in a game when there are other people pursuing from the back side). So we made a drill for it. Did we start here right away? No. Should you? Did the end of your summer look like this with conditioning? Listen to the communication. Multiple people giving signal to one person at each position group. That guy has to communicate what the conditioning rep is. We have coaches checking it to ensure they did it right. I was very proud of how we calculated it. Made each position group a wrist band that was individually set to them. All offense up or all defense up.
