The changes proposed in the FARE Act would make the NYC housing market more transparent, affordable, and efficient for renters, agents, and landlords. By lowering the upfront costs of moving – which have reached a record $12,951 on average in New York – we can open doors for tens of thousands of renters who are unable to move, while ensuring agents are paid fairly for their valuable work. Increasing renter mobility unlocks inventory for all industry participants.
