Ran by two freshmen students in college, Street Smarts is a non profit organization that aims to inspire at-risk youth to get involved both in and out of the classroom. Through the coordination of events that vary from open sports days to mock trials with a real judge, Street Smarts promotes the balance of opportunities in both the academic and sports world. By rallying volunteer groups that reach up to 50 members in size, we aim to inspire the next generation of young community leaders that seek out the best for the generations that precede. Lastly, through mentorship programs carried out with individuals from the professional world, students of the Street Smarts program are able to obtain seasoned advice from industry leaders such as attorneys, library branch managers, federal magistrates, bankers, and even members of the Miami Heat organization.
