We're hiring at Streamline! Come accelerate access to capital to scale the climate transition ??????

Today we're launching our website!! ?? Over the last few months, we've held off on this since product should always take priority over a splashy landing page. Now that we have a product (and customers) we decided it was time to "graduate" from a startup landing page and actually show the world what we are working on ?? Credit goes to Deo A-Mutomb, our founding designer. When we met, we immediately knew we needed him on our team at Streamline Climate - not only is he warm, humble, and kind, he designs the most magical experiences that make our whole team squeal with every demo ?? ? Today we're sharing Deo's magic with the launch of our new homepage: https://lnkd.in/gVwpiSQ3 (ps: if you find a typo, I'll buy you a coffee!!) ?? Along with our new landing page, we've launched a security page to discuss how we keep your intellectual property secure. Since day one, protecting your data has been our priority & today we share what that looks like under the hood: https://lnkd.in/gXQhrGcZ ---------- Shoutout to the whole team for cycles of feedback and support to get this out in a week's time ?? We're hiring at Streamline! Come accelerate access to capital to scale the climate transition ??????

A lot changed with regards to the climate funding landscape last week. As we wait to see exactly how things unfold, there's a lot we can learn from 2016. In 2016 as federal support for climate initiatives diminished, many states took action: several states allocated more resources to climate programs and clean energy initiatives. Specifically, states like California, New York, and Massachusetts ramped up investments in renewable energy projects and energy efficiency programs. We also saw many states set their own ambitious greenhouse gas reduction targets in the absence of federal leadership. We're already seeing similar movements take shape. Excited to dive into fundraising, community building, and more with Energize Capital on November 21st. I'll be joining a fantastic panel moderated by Ana Hugener with Amanda Li from Banyan Infrastructure, and Martin Alexis, MBA, MA from Village Capital ?? At Streamline, your data belongs only to you. ?? We never train models with data you upload. ?? Your data can only be accessed by people you invite to your organization. We've been operating this way since day 1, but now have completed our external audits and are proud to receive the SOC2 seal. SOC2 has a rigorous requirement on how companies handle customer data and information, so compliance guarantees there are established and implemented organizational practices in place to safeguard customer data. The audit was completed with the help of Johanson Group LLP, a premier certification body helping organizations to obtain and maintain global compliance standards.

Compliance that doesn't SOC 2 much ?? Grants that don't SOC 2 much Keeping your data secure has been a top priority since we started Streamline Climate and we're excited to formally have that recognized with a fancy new badge on our home-page -- and custom team socks to celebrate ???? Thank you to Vanta and Johanson Group LLP for making this effort so smooth ??

We're hiring at Streamline! Come accelerate access to capital to scale the climate transition ??????

One of the most overwhelming parts of building in #climate is constructing a "capital stack". Unlike building in SAAS, in #climatetech you need to fund physical "stuff" and returns on investments take longer-- this means you can't only rely on VCs and need to get creative. Daniel Kriozere put a panel together this week to demystify this, bringing together companies from across the stack: from where we at Streamline Climate sit with grants, to VC funding, to equipment financing with Luc Gerdes and Camber Road, etc.. ( ?? See the chart below for how it all fits together ) Having a full capital stack represented on a panel meant we could explore when and why each capital sources was relevant. A lot of climate tech is early and unproven, making traditional funding harder to access and you need to combine multiple. Financing these "first of a kind" #FOAK projects requires a larger risk appetite which fewer lenders have. Some of the key takeaways shared: 1) Match the type of capital to the specific business function. Ex: if you need expensive equipment, consider equipment financing rather than operating off of your balance sheet 2) These capital sources are not competing against eachother, rather they are collaborating. For example, the best time for Venture Debt is right after raising a VC round. 3) This is hard. There is no one-size-fits-all. --- ?? Shoutout to the 9Zero Climate Innovation Hub for hosting us. They're bringing the sf climate ecosystem together - thanks for all the awesome work done by Matthew Joehnk and Duncan Logan

unlocking grants for climate tech @ Streamline ??

Last week, I had the opportunity to present in front of MBA students at University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business has part of a Navigating Climate Finance event. I always get so much satisfaction sharing the work we're doing at Streamline Climate, and my journey to joining the team, with folks who are curious-- whether that's a close friend, a candidate, or a room of MBAs. Regardless of the context, however, my favorite part is when others share their projects and personal journeys with me in exchange. At Berkeley, I heard from students who are actively searching for grant funding to finance their climate startups; who quit their corporate job to transition into a higher-impact role within the climate space; who have been in the trenches of helping local governments pursue climate adaptation grants for their communities; and so many more. I was reminded of just how many critical players need to come together to fund the full ecosystem of climate solutions, and how much opportunity there is to move the needle for folks who are just getting involved in the space. Thanks so much to Vivaan Patel from Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) and Daniel Kriozere from Anthropocene Ventures for hosting; to the other speakers, Kelly Cook, Lara Pierpoint, and Troy Ault for giving awesome presentations; and to all the students who stuck around to chat about climate grants post-event-- Angela Y. Sean Shitamoto Sofia Trexler Nidhi Upadhyaya Vanessa H. Moe Ghaffarian Johann von Sothen to name a few! ??

Streamline Discover is officially out of Beta ??

We're hiring at Streamline! Come accelerate access to capital to scale the climate transition ??????

When we first showed Jennifer Garson from Boundary Stone Partners our Discover tool, she understood the vision but was immediately skeptical. She dove into a #DOE opportunity that she wrote to test its accuracy. (Each solicitation has an AI-powered chat to find the perfect answer, saving you from reading the entire #FOA) Immediately, Jenn asked a question that had confused everyone, knowing our AI would struggle to find the answer. Back in May, Streamline totally fell into the trap, failing to answer the question. The answer to her eligibility question was referenced within the FOA, but never actually delineated. In that moment we thought we’d lost all trust with Jenn ?? Instead, she saw the potential! We soon built a way to do deeper contextualization. In this case that means: when a FOA mentions a separate document, Streamline knows how to find more details. We spent the next 3 months working through all of the edge cases that Jenn found. The hardest challenges came from working within a complicated landscape of outdated information and broken links. ???Today, Discover is officially out of beta! It is the most comprehensive tool for identifying and qualifying government #funding opportunities for the #energy and #climate transition. ?? https://lnkd.in/gRPdGHQb The best part? We have a fully free version with all the basic search functionality across our entire dataset. (If you’re a power-user in need of recommendations, notifications, bulk exports, memos, etc., please reach out.) ?? Incredibly proud of our team at Streamline Climate for what we’ve achieved. Especially proud of Megan Raisle for pushing the bar so high, Eric H. for solving large scale data challenges, Charlie Luo for diving in with two feet and pulling off the impossible after only recently joining our team, and Deo A-Mutomb for all the design wizardry that made our solution so elegant. What's next? There’s an endless list of improvements and new features we’re building — from building integrations to cover all local opportunities, supporting teaming lists, and releasing our automated eligibility checker.

We're hiring at Streamline! Come accelerate access to capital to scale the climate transition ??????

Last week Stonly Blue and I lead an AI workflows workshop at the Third Sphere conference in Tulsa and here are just some of the questions we answered: - can you make yourself "more leveraged" by automating tasks? A: yes! - what automations should you build in house versus buy? A: buy if you can - what to look for in AI tools you buy? A: privacy & how they do model training We went into everything from prompt engineering to building lightweight agents with Zapier to some of the work we've been doing at Streamline Climate. ?? One thing to remember with all of these AI-powered-workflows -- speaking as the founder of one -- is that you are the driver in these interactions. In our case, Streamline's ability to help is extremely limited if you have no grant strategy or ideas for your business. Workflow automations help you double down on something that works. -- Huge shoutout to the wonderful team at Atento Capital (especially Vondell J. Burns ??) that hosted us, planned tours, and exposed us to the exciting happenings in town (including Tulsa Tough ??♀?!!). Lots of dreaming along with action. I wouldn't be surprised if Tulsa, which was once "the oil capital of the world", became the "energy capital of the world." Also shoutout to the Third Sphere team for bringing such a good crew together - Miela Mayer, Shaun Abrahamson, Stonly Blue, Zeev Krieger ?? If you want to recreate the workshop, check out Stonly's post here: https://lnkd.in/gU_8aqN5
