Camera tracking data on set is extremely valuable for post work. This is from a Stray Vista Original Film.
One of the huge benefits of Virtual Production and ICVFX is that you also get all of the tracking data from the day on set. If your production needs a wide shot but doesn't have a full art build to cover the floor for just that one shot, we can take our tracking data and do a simple composite. The luxury of building out a massive physical set isn't always available, but not showing the floor can make your project feel small. This is a great way to utilize the tracking data for something other than just parallax, as well as allowing for wider shots where lights and the edge of the volume may be visible. Utilizing the data we have at our finger tips is a great way to maximize virtual production. This technique can also be used for greenscreen, when we either simultaneously do ICVFX and Green plates, or just using green plates.

I had a great time filming for the past two weeks with my team at Stray Vista Studios for Texas A&M University's Summer Industry Course. Learning Virtual Production was incredible, especially working with our mentors Ace Patel, Aaron Mouer and Zack Stauffer. A big thanks to SISU Cinema Robotics for the use of their robotic arm and to Caleb Kicklighter and Mayet Andreassen for being our amazing instructors!

Visited Stray Vista Studios in Austin, with family, during production of 3 short films for Texas A&M University Texas A&M School of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts Visualization, Texas A&M University (Viz Lab) as my son Adithya Sathyanarayanan was working as technical consultant for their industry leading summer industry course. It’s awesome to get first hand experience of #virtualproduction being in the set while students were making movies under the mentorship of Mayet Andreassen Caleb Kicklighter Ace Patel and Zach Marlow. They were also using technology to enrich art with SISU Cinema Robotics Sony Unreal Engine Adobe Creative Cloud Foundry Nuke Houdini Interactive Pixar Labs . This is a precursor to the facility TAMU is building in DFW under the leadership of Tim McLaughlin . #renderman #movies #vfx . Thanks to Nate Strayer for the collaboration to educate the next generation in technology that is definitely going to change the future of movies production by bringing much more efficiency and agility, reduce costs and help creators focus on content and performance.

All of the shots you see here were done 100% on our LED wall. Recently, as we were redoing strayvista.com we were skimming through some recent work to find new shots for our banner. I wanted to show it off here as I firmly believe VP is a tool, and when utilized correctly, it can be seamless. These shots are a mix of work produced by Stray Vista itself, and work produced by other production companies with Stray Vista at the helm of the VP side. I hope this work from Stray Vista shows our dedication to creating the best work flows for results oriented Virtual Production!
