Excited to see our work on recreation and forest health featured by Strava Metro. At FEMC, we explored how Strava and iNaturalist data can help land managers balance recreation and conservation. Using geospatial analysis and remote sensing, we identified where trails intersect with sensitive soils and forest cover. Grateful to Strava Metro for sharing this work. ??? Provincie Utrecht is known as the cycling region of Europe, and to maintain this status, they need more and better cycling data. That's why they used Strava Metro to deepen and broaden their insights into the usage of the Regional Cycling Network (RFN). ?? The Strava Metro database, which has been freely accessible to governments since last year, offers promising tools to collect more and better cycling data, needed to anticipate developments and to be able to control cycling. Provincie Utrecht's case it's a good example of why policy makers should choose ITS technologies to extrapolate insights on local mobility. ??
