??What’s a good GMAT score in the new format? You might be surprised. The GMAT score landscape has shifted, and while many test-takers once aimed for a 700, the new scoring scale has changed the game. According to the GMAC, "a score of 645 is equivalent to a 700," meaning that even though scores may appear lower, they actually reflect the same performance. ?? A 645 on the new format puts you in the 88th percentile. For top-25 MBA programs, the benchmark is typically around a 640 (85th percentile), but it’s important to remember that scores are just one part of the process. ?? Susan Cera, MBA admissions director at Stratus Admissions Counseling, reminds us: "There’s going to be people above that average and below that average. It’s a holistic evaluation, so if you’re really strong or unique in some way, you can be below the average and still find success at a school." ? If your undergraduate performance was dismal (read: a GPA less than 3.0), is there ANY hope of being accepted into an MBA program? Do the math! Stanford’s Class of 2025 has an average GPA of 3.77.
