Yesterday, in Fayetteville, NC, our fellows experienced something truly special—an immersive, behind-the-scenes look at the people, places, and organizations driving impact across our region. Each THF cohort participates in both a local city trek and a two-day major metro trek designed to expose them to a diverse range of industries, leadership styles, and organizational cultures throughout North Carolina. These experiences are about expanding perspective, building authentic connections, and exploring new paths forward. Our very first Fayetteville Trek delivered all of that and more. We kicked off the day with an incredible stop at Amazon where THF alumnus, Darreth Cooley, and his team welcomed us with thoughtfulness, transparency, and genuine pride in their work. Their leadership and commitment to inclusion left a powerful impression. From there, we visited The Geneva Foundation where Kaleigh N. Presgraves, a consistent and generous supporter of our new Fayetteville chapter, and her incredible team hosted us and brought in Bob Burton who offered valuable insights to our fellows. We’re grateful for Kaleigh’s leadership and the continued support of Geneva. At Strategic Solutions Unlimited, Inc. we were hosted by fellow THF alum, Bruce Holmes and his team. Bruce’s personal journey from fellow to industry leader brought a powerful layer of connection to the experience. His commitment to paying it forward and the effort he and his team put into creating an engaging and insightful visit, left a lasting impression on all of us. It’s moments like these that truly reflect the spirit of this community. We ended the day at Dirtbag Ales, a thriving, veteran-owned community space and brewery, where, Tito Simmons, one of the founders, shared his inspiring journey from service to entrepreneurship. Our evening wrapped with a networking event at Dirtbag, where many of our local industry partners, volunteers, and friends showed up to connect with and support our fellows. To every host, partner, alum, and volunteer, thank you for showing up for this cohort and for being part of what makes the Fayetteville campus experience so meaningful. Today, we had the privilege of hosting The Honor Foundation (Fayetteville, NC campus) during their Business Trek event at our corporate showroom! We welcomed 35 transitioning #SOF personnel and campus faculty as part of their journey to explore new career opportunities and navigate the next chapter of their professional lives. It was an honor to connect with such talented individuals and share our #business perspective.
