Join us in giving a warm welcome to: Chisom Chieke – Marketing & Development Manager. Chisom is an alum of our programs and a wonderful, smart, and talented human being. We are honored to have her on board. Lucy Tian, Senior at NYU studying Film & TV - Academic Intern. Lucy did her research and was ready to get started during her interview, let alone on the first day of her internship. We are honored to be working with her and hopefully through the internship helping her prepare for what will come next. The team is already tremendously busy and the energy is positive. We are pleased to share that our friends at NewFilmmakers LA have opened film submissions for their 2025 programs. The?NFMLA Monthly Film Festivals?are uniquely filmmaker-focused, offering to filmmakers: screenings, meetings with industry professionals, press interviews, industry panels, audience Q&A sessions, networking receptions, and qualification for the Best of NFMLA Awards. NFMLA festival selections include features and shorts, narrative and documentary, live-action and animation, and domestic and international films. The 2025 Festival season will include programming from?NFMLA's InFocus initiative, which seeks to combat the lack of diversity in media by featuring a specific group of underrepresented voices each month. Stowe Story Labs is pleased to showcase "Contraction" by?Andy?Greene as our March Alumni Short Film Spotlight, a psychological horror about a mother going into labor and realizing something is different about her husband and father of her child. "Contraction" made its premiere at the?North Hollywood CineFest in 2024 and has been made an Official Selection at over seven film festivals across the country. The film placed second in the Best Suspense Short category at the Indie Suspense Horror Sci-Fi Film Festival.
