Our study on Providence, RI's nightlife industry got released and is getting great press! Really interesting city with a truly unique nightlife climate. Their WaterFire art installation features nearly 100 bonfires that blaze just above the surface of the three rivers that pass through the middle of downtown Providence. They have more nightlife establishments per person than NYC; commercial rent half as expensive as Boston; a higher share of students than Philly; and a population as international as LA. Last year, #TeamLINK had the privilege of working on an extraordinarily cool project that created an expansive, imaginative, equitable plan for the future of Downtown DC. Yesterday, our partners at the DC Office of Planning were honored for their visionary leadership on the project with the 2024 Outstanding Plan of the Year Award by APA-NCAC. Congratulations to the entire DC Office of Planning Team—especially our brilliant colleagues Director Anita Cozart, Timothy Maher, and Rita Abou Samra, LEED AP ND—as well as each of the partners who collaborated on the project: Gehl - Making Cities for People, &Access, Cunningham | Quill Architects, and Jon Stover & Associates. This is a plan of incredible possibility. This week, Future iQ held the Future Summit in Keene, New Hampshire. This is part of the comprehensive master plan update work that Future iQ is conducting with the community and partners. We had a great group, who worked on a large scale map to look at future ideas for how the city could evolve.
