Last week PharmCATS participated in the Fall Burton Barr Central Library Health Fair in Phoenix. Coit College of Pharmacy students provided screenings and referrals at no cost, making these critical services accessible to the under- or uninsured. However, this was the first time naloxone kits were distributed, thanks to AzPA's naloxone distribution program?SODAz - Stop Overdose Deaths Arizona. People living with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) deserve empathy, respect, and support.? One way to help reduce stigma is by using person-first language. This approach puts the individual before their condition (for instance, saying "person with OUD" instead of "addict" or "junkie"). Last Saturday on September 14th, R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy students collaborated with Arizona Pharmacy Association's naloxone distribution program, SODAz - Stop Overdose Deaths Arizona. During the event, students educated the public on the importance of naloxone to reverse opioid overdoses and help save lives!
