We’ll cover it all, from how they’re produced and if they’re healthier than conventionally grown food. You’ll leave this class with the knowledge to make informed choices when shopping. ·??????Tuesday, March. 18 at 1 p.m. - Oils, Oh My!: There is a lot of confusion when it comes to oils. Can you cook with extra virgin olive oil? Are seed oils unhealthy? Is coconut oil the most nutritious? In this class, we’ll answer all these questions and more. ·??????Wednesday, March 26 at 3 p.m. - Spring Cleaning - Pantry Checklist: Our dietitians will take “spring cleaning” to a new level and showcase how to clear out your cabinets with these pantry-staples meals.

We presented a check for $40,000 to Grassroots Grocery at New Directions Secondary School, in support of the expansion of their fresh free produce distributions across 10 public schools located in the Bronx, NY! This expansion is focused on helping Bronx students and their families gain more access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Among the NYC boroughs, the Bronx has the highest rate of food insecure residents at 20.2% or nearly 291,000 residents. In the Bronx an estimated 27.7% or more than 375,000 residents are living below the federal poverty level, and one-in-three children are food insecure. We are proud to support Grassroots Grocery in their mission to remove accessibility barriers by bringing fresh free produce pantries to our Bronx community members!

In honor of Valentine’s Day, our stores across Westchester, NY delivered over 4,000 stuffed animals and toys to the home of 10-year-old Larchmont cancer survivor, Cassidy Kline. Cassidy’s charity, Cuddles from Cassidy, will present the gifts to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and local hospitals to donate to pediatric cancer patients across Westchester and the New York City metropolitan area. For 4 consecutive years, our associates have presented gifts to Cuddles from Cassidy and now have donated over 21,000 stuffed animals and toys!
