First day to put on make up and first trip to PT! I’m really slow. That’s OK. Trust the process. I’m trading the pain of despair for the pain of hope.” As Dan Sullivan would say, “Make your future better than your past!” Every transformation includes some pain, patience, and perseverence. I’ve got lots of support and that makes all the difference. #pain #trust #support

What lessons do you see in this story?
We build confident leaders, collaborative relationships, and accountable cultures. | Keynote Speaking | Executive Retreats | Advising | Online course: The Performance Coaching Model
What you think is true may not be. On my flight I sat by an elderly woman who needed wheel chair assistance. She also couldn’t turn her neck due to a couple of surgeries, so she hunched over and sort of leaned left. (She really couldn’t even look at me when we talked.) When we landed no one was there to help. So, I held her stuff and told her to hang on to me until we got to the end of the ramp. Obviously we were slowing things down, but all the passengers were compassionately waiting. A man behind me jokingly yelled out, “Let her do it herself. Let her be empowered! She’s got this!” So, momentarily I stepped away and I saw her panic. So, I told her to hold on to me, and I got her settled in her wheel chair. I gave her back her belongings and she said “Thank you!” Then the man behind me said, “Oh, you’re not with her???” I laughed and said “No.” He hugged me, and said, “I’m sorry! Bless you!” There are many lessons here about perceptions, reality, empowerment, and helping versus rescuing. What lessons do you see here? #lessons #perception

Are you impatient? Would you like to change? Here are some tips. What resonates most with you?

I jokingly say "there's a flower named after me. It's called the Impatient." I suffered from impatience for a long time, but it's significantly lower than it was a decade ago. I intuitively knew impatience was really my resistance to the current reality. One reason I wanted to change is that I had read that "impatience is an act of irreverence; a desire to have your own need met before that of others." (Gary Zukav) In this SmartBrief article I share some of the tips I've learned along the path to patience. #impatience #leadership

Our words have more power than we realize. When you learn how to identify irresponsible language, it's easier to think critically and avoid workplace drama and personal drama. How do you identify responsible versus irresponsible language? #language #responsibility #culture

What kind of personal tasks do you delegate to have a more fulfilling life and increase your well being?

A beautiful day for Farmers Market. The ability to enjoy (and be present) is a result of delegating personal chores and house keeping. Same principles in business apply at home. #delegation #leverage #systems

How does perspective show up in your life?
We build confident leaders, collaborative relationships, and accountable cultures. | Keynote Speaking | Executive Retreats | Advising | Online course: The Performance Coaching Model
Even though the back of my seat was kicked enthusiastically for over 3 hours in my flight home, flying always offers a different perspective. I definitely struggled to maintain calm, realizing the conflict: Me wanting peace, weary parents doing their best, and a four year old needing to express energy. I was lucky to capture a beautiful sunset .
