Angelique Pouponneau is a leader in the Blue Economy. She received the Institute’s 2024 Cronkite Award for Ocean Champion for her leadership with SIDS Youth AIMS Hub- SEYCHELLES. The Seychelles Chapter of the Small Island Development States (SIDS) in the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean, and South China Sea (AIMS) is a youth led NGO promoting and advancing youth-led sustainable development projects. “Climate change is not a problem for a few island nations, it is a GLOBAL emergency!” says Angelique.
