Congratulations to SOC team, Eric Stockman, Adam Maiocco and Lucy Olschan for their hard-fought win in a medical malpractice case handled on behalf of Yale Health Services Corp. in which the plaintiff claimed negligence and a failure to diagnose testicular torsion. Claimed damages included an orchiectomy and a loss of enjoyment of life’s activities. The jury returned a defense verdict several hours of deliberation, finding that the plaintiff did not establish that his physician breached the standard of care. Congratulations to Eric Stockman, Scott Jarvis and Rebecca Brindley for their hard-fought trial win on behalf of Stamford Hospital.?Plaintiffs claimed that a Stamford?Hospital cardiac electrophysiologist negligently misplaced a pacemaker lead causing heart failure and necessitating emergency open heart surgery.?SOC's defense team proved that the patient had a 1 in 100,000 cardiac anomaly that caused an undetectable rerouting of the lead.?After 2 weeks of evidence and a 2.5 million dollar jury demand by plaintiffs, the jury rendered a defense verdict in a little over 5 hours of deliberation. #triallawyers #medmal #defense
