Stockade Works, Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, and @WoodstockFilmFestival are delighted to announce a live screenplay reading for the upcoming film DUE EAST, written and to-be directed by Jamie Buckner. In 1882, a stubborn widower, and his reserved neighbor put their differences aside to search for his young daughter lost deep in the mountain wilderness. This is the story of DUE EAST, set in the lesser known northeastern side of the great American frontier, and to be shot locally in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains. This live screenplay reading will feature actors Crystal Tweed and Norm Magnusson, and narration by Eric Newland. Story feedback will be gathered from the audience after the read. Refreshments will be available for purchase on site. Meet Kristina Perez, our fabulous new SWAY (Stockade Works Access Youth) lead instructor! Kristina is a film and television professional living in the Hudson Valley. After graduating from the University of Florida with dual degrees in Film and Television Production and Economics, Kristina moved to New York City and began working as a production assistant on various commercials, TV shows, and films including Dickinson (AppleTV), Severance (AppleTV), Tommy (CBS), The Gilded Age (HBO) and many more. In 2022, Kristina gained membership in United Scenic Artists Local 829 - IATSE as a computer artist and returned to Severance as part of their graphics team. Kristina is passionate about democratizing access to filmmaking tools and knowledge and is so thrilled to be furthering that mission alongside the rest of the Stockade Works team. If you've ever worked on set you know the critical importance of the Assistant Director (AD) department. And also, that a production has nothing without good, clean sound. In that spirit, meet our lead AD and Sound instructors for Crew Boot Camp! Allison Jackson discovered her keen ear and love of sound while studying at the London Film School. Having worked 5 years as an indie sound mixer, she was given the opportunity to mix tandem episodes for all 3 seasons of the tv series ‘The Following’. After that show ended, she gradually made the shift to mixing full time. More contacts were made, more experience gained, and she now works full time as a mixer. She still learns from every job, strives for perfection in every job, and has yet to lose her love of sound. Derek Wimble is a 1st AD whose Film and TV credits include BULL, Blindspot, The Girl on the Train, The Americans, Annie, White Collar, Life of Pi, Unforgettable, Eat Pray Love, and How to Make it in America. Brendan Lynch-Littlejohn is a 1st AD & DGA Member since 2011. He got his DGA start working as an Additional 2nd AD back on the original GOSSIP GIRL & has since become a 1st AD, working on projects such as GOTHAM (FOX), THE SINNER (USA), 13: THE MUSICAL (NETFLIX), the GOSSIP GIRL reboot (HBO Max) & most recently the final season of MANIFEST (NETFLIX). Meet our amazing Crew Boot Camp lead instructors for Art Department and Costume / Wardrobe! Annie Simeone Morales is a New York based Production Designer. She designed Ray Romano's directorial debut feature film, SOMEWHERE IN QUEENS, and was the Art Director on Ryan Murphy's feature film THE BOYS IN THE BAND, Michael Showalter's feature SPOILER ALERT, and the Netflix TV show DASH & LILY, among many others. Most recently, she Art Directed and then finished as Production Designer on Justin Baldoni's film IT ENDS WITH US, starring Blake Lively. Nicole Montagnino is a Set Decorator who works in New York City and the Hudson Valley. She is a member of the SDSA and IATSE Local 52. Her recent credits include The Other Two Season 3, Law and Order Season 21, I Know This Much is True and Lost Girls. Amit Gajwani was born in Mumbai, India and at 12 years old moved to New York. He became established and well respected in the world of fashion print and advertising campaigns for clients such as Jack Daniels, Microsoft, Spike TV, Ted Baker London, Maybelline, PNC bank, Ford Motors, and many more. He has also worked with a wide range of talent such as Gabrielle Union, Lala Anthony, Chris Abbott, Mary Steenburgen, Jim Belushi, Rachel Brosnahan, Macy Gray, Olivia Newton John and many others. Films he has costume designed for have premiered at various film festivals around the world. Amit also costume designed the sold-out Off-Broadway run of the play, Phoenix, starring Julia Stiles. Building on last year's success in the Hudson Valley, the MRC Behind the Camera Initiative: Poker Face Season 2 will allow three NYC-based selected fellows the opportunity to work full-time for 12 weeks on the NYC set of Poker Face, a procedural Television Mystery-Drama. Meet Benjamin Chacko, lead instructor for our upcoming Pre-Production: Locations Workshop! Ben is a filmmaker who has primarily worked as a Location Manager and Scout in New York & New Jersey. He has 10 years of experience in the industry and is a proud member of the Theatrical Teamsters Local Union 817. He did not go to film school, mostly because of circumstance but that motivated his choice to pursue the work and learn from hands-on experience instead of film theory. Some of his film credits include "John Wick 3", "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood", "You Were Never Really Here" and a number of television shows such as "The Walking Dead: Dead City", "White House Plumbers", "Severance", and many more.
