Enhancing Road Safety with STMicroelectronics' Technologies for Driver Monitoring Solutions ?? Car safety has come a long way since seat belts became mandatory in the 1970s. Today, advanced technologies have the potential to save thousands more lives by improving road safety and enhancing driving experiences. ST has developed the ideal image sensor for Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) based on feedback from our customers and the automotive ecosystem. These sensors are now mature and in mass production as part of the ST Safesense smart image sensor family, designed for automotive safety applications for both drivers and vehicle occupants. Our sensors can track eye movement, head position, and facial expressions to identify distracted drivers and signs of reduced alertness due to fatigue. They comply with stringent safety regulations, such as the European Union's ASIL-B requirements, and cybersecurity standards, ensuring the highest levels of road safety.
