Corporate America is certainly talking more about #AI since the release of ChatGPT. But how much more? And has the largely positive discussion among executives about this new technology translated into higher capital and R&D spending? St. Louis Fed economists Aakash Kalyani and Serdar Ozkan and research associates Mickenzie Bass and Mick Dueholm analyze the earnings calls of publicly traded U.S. firms to gauge the intensity of this dialogue and sentiment toward AI, as well as its impact on corporate investment. https://ow.ly/nS8U50TK08Y #GenerativeAI #ArtificialIntelligence

This week, St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem met with the team at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis and saw first-hand the work being done in plant science to improve the lives of people around the world.
St. Louis is a major hub for the agriculture technology industry. This week, I saw first-hand the incredible work being done here in plant science to improve the lives of people globally. I toured the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, a research institute bringing together plant scientists from around the world to solve global challenges. I also met with leaders from Cultivar, a cross-sector collaboration focused on improving food security worldwide and contributing to economic growth in St. Louis and abroad. I am impressed by the work being done in the St. Louis region at the nexus of the agriculture, climate and geospatial industries for a global impact.

St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem gave remarks on financial conditions, the U.S. economic outlook and monetary policy to the Money Marketeers of New York University Inc. on Oct. 7. “I believe that further gradual reductions in the policy rate will likely be appropriate over time,” he said. “Patience has served the FOMC well in its pursuit of price stability and remains appropriate now, but I will not prejudge the size or timing of future adjustments to policy.” Read his full speech: https://ow.ly/O3Zq50TGY8H
