Would you hand a teenager their first drink? You might be setting them up for a lifetime of heavy drinking. A new study confirms what many have feared. Teens who drink alcohol at home, even with parental supervision, are far more likely to develop alcohol problems as young adults. What starts as an “innocent sip” can spiral into riskier behavior, increased consumption, and long-term dependency. Businesses that sell alcohol should take note. The line between legal and illegal sales is razor-thin, and the consequences of selling to minors don’t end with a single transaction. They echo for years. Compliance isn’t just about avoiding fines, it’s about preventing harm. Would your business pass a compliance check today? https://lnkd.in/e2jSDpYG #AlcoholCompliance #ResponsibleSales

A customer rants about your strict return policy? Congrats, you're stopping fraud. Someone furious that your staff actually checked their ID? Sounds like your compliance training is working. One-star reviews aren’t always bad. In fact, they can be proof that you're running a tight ship. Businesses in regulated industries get hit with complaints just for following the law. But that kind of bad review is actually a good sign. Now, if reviews keep saying your staff is rude or your policies make zero sense, that's a different story. But before freaking out over a one-star review, ask yourself if it's a real problem or just proof that you're doing things right. Serving age-restricted products comes with serious responsibility. At The Big Idea Conference in Jacksonville, Stinger Compliance founder Clifford Crider spoke about why businesses must take compliance seriously. Whether it's bars and restaurants, vape shops, convenience stores, or grocery stores, every sale matters. Failing to check IDs doesn't just risk fines. It puts communities and brands at risk. Businesses that prioritize compliance protect their customers, their reputation, and their bottom line. Doing the right thing isn’t optional. #AgeVerification #ComplianceMatters #ResponsibleRetail

Four businesses in Cobb County got caught selling alcohol to minors. They were lucky this time. It was law enforcement. Next time, it could be a teenager getting behind the wheel. Someone could get hurt or worse. One sale is all it takes to cause a tragedy. Fines and license suspensions are nothing compared to the real risk. If you aren’t running mock stings, you’re leaving it to chance. And the consequences could be devastating. Don’t wait for a real sting. Don't wait for a real disaster. https://lnkd.in/efWWh9HP #Compliance #mockstings

Plenty of businesses have alcohol policies, but do employees actually follow them? If the rules are there but nobody enforces them, they might as well not exist. A solid policy makes it clear when to check IDs, how to handle refusals, and what happens if someone ignores the rules. When consequences are real, violations happen less. Are employees signing a policy they know you will actually enforce? If not, it is just paperwork, not compliance. #AlcoholRegulations #ComplianceMatters

Who’s responsible when a fake ID gets through? Bouncers and bartenders both play a role in stopping underage alcohol sales, but who’s responsible when a fake ID slips by? Bouncers are the first line of defense, checking IDs at the door. But their job doesn’t end there. If they miss a fake, the bartender or server is the last checkpoint before alcohol is served. Many states put the legal burden on the person making the sale, but penalties can hit the entire business. Fake IDs are getting better. The only way to keep up? Proper training, strong ID-checking policies, and internal compliance checks. No one can afford to assume someone else will catch it. #FakeIDs #AlcoholCompliance #BarSafety https://lnkd.in/evSN5JPB

New federal rules require all CBD products to have QR codes linking to lab test results. Products over 0.3% THC must now carry bold warning labels. For retailers, this means higher costs and stricter oversight. The FDA is already issuing fines for mislabeled products, some up to $5,000 per violation. Is this another hurdle for small businesses or a necessary step for consumer safety? #CBD #compliance #retail https://lnkd.in/e69PBkQ6

13 Fake IDs in One Night. Would Your Team Catch Them? A 12-year-old walks in with a fake ID. Easy call. But what about the ones who look 21? Stinger Compliance founder, Clifford Crider, knows the risks. As a bar owner and one of the founders of Truck & Tap, he’s seen how easy it is for fakes to slip through. But his team caught 13 fake IDs in one night; because they stay sharp with knowing what to look for and regular mock compliance ID checks. These surprise tests keep staff on their toes and ensure they don’t get complacent. Most places think they’re catching fakes. How many are slipping past yours? #FakeID #Compliance
