You’ve done it again, Stillwater! You answered the call and we are beyond thrilled to announce that this year’s Annual Gala raised an amazing $460,350! You heard the need - an Emergency Department originally designed to serve 26,000 patients per year, now serving a staggering 33,000+ patients...you heard and understand we need YOU to meet the needs of our community. Together, we’re making a lasting impact on our community’s health and well-being.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time often marked by sobering statistics, but at Stillwater Medical Foundation, we’re focusing on hope, resilience, and community support. This month, we celebrated survivors and empowered women across our community, kicking off with an event at Our Daily Bread Ministries, where we provided 30 free breast exams and 15 mammograms to those who needed them. Throughout October, Stillwater Medical Center offered Saturday mammograms, supported OSU and Pioneer football and volleyball games, and volunteers held sewing sessions for mastectomy pillows. Support groups met to connect and share experiences, and a special survivorship celebration took place at the Cancer Center on October 25th. On Tuesday, we closed the month with a Women of Wellness gathering, where members had the chance to hear from our very own Dr. Cara Pence and CEO, Denise Webber. We share these moments to encourage every woman to see annual exams and proactive care as steps toward strength and health. Breast cancer awareness month is not just about statistics—it’s about empowerment, connection, and support.

Last Friday, Michal Shaw, our Vice President of Foundation and Community Outreach, celebrated 3 years with the Foundation. The foundation team is so grateful for her remarkable leadership. She is involved in everything but does it gracefully! Cheers to many more and thank you for all you do Michal.

Another talented High School Fellow highlight, Cody Moss. Cody said, "My time at Stillwater Medical Center has been nothing but a joy and a remarkable learning experience. The entire team at Stillwater Medical Center has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. I never felt that I was a distraction to anyone’s work or a burden in general. I have gained invaluable insight into the daily lives of medical professionals. My understanding of medicine and my respect for those in the field have deepened significantly. Each day, I looked forward to shadowing and woke up with enthusiasm, making this summer my most productive yet and preparing me well for my first year at Oklahoma State University. This experience has given me a great taste of what’s to come and has been an excellent head start in my pre-med journey on the path to medical school."

On August 16th, Jeffery Corbett celebrated 30 years with Stillwater Medical! Over the past three decades, Jeffery has worn many hats within our organization, and his loyalty, dedication, and class have truly made him one of a kind. We're especially grateful for the time and passion he's poured into the Foundation. Yesterday, we celebrated Serita Selman's 10th anniversary as the manager of The Gift Shop at Stillwater Medical! For the past decade, Serita has been the heart and soul of our shop, carefully curating unique items that bring joy to everyone who steps through our doors.
