We joined 700 others in celebrating the incredible work of Community Cooperative while raising funds to fight hunger and homelessness right here in our community. Just look at the impact they’re making: ?? 117,000 meals delivered to homebound seniors, disabled, and ill clients through Meals on Wheels. ?? 46,000 people served last year. ?? 46,000 volunteer hours from 2,000 dedicated individuals! Every dollar raised stays local, ensuring that those in need receive food, support, and hope. Thank you to Community Cooperative for your impact to our SWFL community!??

Today, we celebrated a major milestone—the topping off of Shalimar Beach Resort, the first ground-up resort to start and finish construction after Hurricane Ian! ????? Alongside the Niesel family, Sanibel community, design team, media, and loyal Shalimar guests, we marked this exciting moment in the resort’s comeback story with a lunch clebration. Even more exciting—Shalimar is now accepting reservations for October 2025, bringing 33 guest rooms back to the island! Designed by Architecture Joyce Owens, an expert in coastal architecture, the new Shalimar stands strong with 577 concrete pilings, impact doors, glass, and walls—built to withstand the toughest storms. We are beyond proud to partner with Shalimar on this incredible project, restoring this family-owned gem for the Niesel family, Sanibel, and the entire SWFL community! #sanibel

After 48 years in the construction industry---Angela Sugg is hanging up her hard hat and retiring! We are so appreciative of the nearly eight years of service Angie provided to Stevens Construction as project administrator! We will miss her Southern charm, laugh and the hard work she provided to the team. We wish her all the best in the next chapter of life as she relaxes with her family, reads more books, and finally visits the home of her favorite entertainer, Elvis!

We swapped our hardhats for baseball caps at the spring training game yesterday afternoon! ????? Founded in 1914, Sanibel Community Church was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian. In the immediate aftermath, it was a vital hub, providing meals, restrooms and laundry facilities to the community and emergency responders, while also serving as the FEMA site for Sanibel.? When it was time to focus on rebuilding the church, Stevens Construction got to work. Our team quickly assessed the damage, prioritizing the reopening of the Sanctuary for Christmas Eve services. Thanks to the swift efforts of our Special Projects team, it was ready in just two weeks, offering comfort and hope to the community. We also restored the oldest structure on the campus--the historic chapel, installing new pine walls, carpeting, a sound booth, and trim around the original stained-glass windows, which miraculously survived the storm. While immediate repairs were underway, our preconstruction team partnered with the architect and church leadership to develop a long-term renovation plan. Over the year, we evaluated designs, provided options, and created a phased strategy allowing them to continue serving the community throughout the project. Today, Sanibel Community Church is fully operational. Stevens Construction renovated the Family Life Center with new classrooms, a kitchen, and restrooms, and upgraded the Fellowship Hall with a new stage, decorative wood trusses, and modern finishes. The Sanctuary now features a new entryway, lobby, vestibule, conference room, and enhanced sound booth. Campus-wide improvements included new gutters, paint, landscaping, and updated air conditioning. The new 5,813-square-foot, three-story building features durable materials like simulated stucco siding, composite soffits, and a standing seam metal roof—ensuring longevity and storm resistance. Marine-grade cabinetry withstands the coastal elements, while turtle-friendly glass and lighting help protect nesting sea turtles. ??? ?? First Floor – An open-air, walk-up bar with covered beachfront seating, a retail space, storage, and covered parking. Designed for flexibility, it includes relocatable restroom trailers and cooler storage to adapt to storm conditions. ?? Second & Third Floors – A spacious residential unit available for rent, offering breathtaking beachfront views. A proud graduate of Florida International University, Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management from the Moss Department of Construction Management at Florida International University. Stevens Construction donated construction services to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC), converting a file room into a beautiful Advocacy Resource Center for families in just two weeks. Our Special Projects team donated materials and labor allowing CAC to expand services and continue serving over 150 kids a month through counseling and support! We are grateful for the work the CAC provides to our local children and are proud to support their mission to create a safe space for children affected by abuse to share their stories, heal, and thrive! #swfl #childrensadvocacy #leecounty
